JAPANESE GOVERNMENT DONATES 1.6M NAIRA MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO AMUWO ODOFIN LOCAL GOVERNMENT – NOVEMBER 2013

The Japanese Government in conjunction with Integra Health and Birre Child and Maternal Health Foundation, an indigenous non-governmental organization that was established to fight against HIV/Aids syndrome today donated medical equipment worth over 1.6 million Naira to the local government. Some of the equipments donated included 2 sets of delivery beds, 2 set of angle poised lamps, 1 set of wheel chairs, 1 set of baby weighing scales with length, 1 set of ECG Machine, and 1 set of portable oxygen units, amongst others.

The event which was held at the Mile 2 Primary Health Care Center (PHC) had in attendance representatives of Mecure Health Care Limited, Rotary Club of Festac Metropolitan, Community and Apex leaders, as well as residents, amongst others.

Mr. Dare Ajayi, the Executive Director of Birre Child and Maternal Health Foundation and CEO of Integra Health, Mr. Adham Yahaya, while delivering their remarks noted that over 10 primary health care centers were selected to benefit from this ongoing project, in which Amuwo Odofin local Government is a proud beneficiary.

They acknowledged that the Local Government boss, Comrade Ayodele Adewale due to his political will and zeal towards the health sector, a lot of tsunami transformation has been brought to the sector. In their words, “if we have 10 of Comrade Adewale in Lagos state, we will experience developmental changes. With Ayodele, we have hope in this country.”

They advised the local government to jealously protect the equipment.

Meanwhile, Comrade Adewale while taking delivery of the equipment thanked the donor for their kind gesture towards supporting the government in achieving its goals for the community. He noted that the primary health care center in the local government has delivered over 836 babies with zero mortality, while free drugs are being dispensed freely to vulnerable age group.

Comrade Adewale while reacting to the G7 Governors who joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday said that the merger would bring developmental changes in all strata of development in Nigeria, advising residents to be security conscious.
